Thinking of starting a haircare routine? Here is one working for me…

Are you thinking of starting your own haircare routine? This feature shows a haircare routine that is working for me.

During lockdown in the UK I have found my hair has changed dramatically as I have not had it cut since early February and I have noticed many more split ends and my bangs have grown massively. During lockdown I have found a haircare routine that works for my hair. (My hair tends to become greasy a day or so after a wash and the ends can become dry very easily.) These products work for my hair but might not work for everyone!

Lets start with pre- wash Hair Masks!

I have used so many hair masks in recent years and have found none have gave my hair the results I would desire. Many pre-wash masks would feel heavy on my hair and weigh it down whereas other masks have left my hair looking exactly the same as before applying the mask.

Here is my preferred mask for pre-washing
OGX Extra Strength Hydrate & Revive + Argan Oil of Morocco Hair Mask

Now I know this mask says to use it after shampooing but I love to use it before I wash my hair because it gives my hair some much needed moisture. Most of the time I will apply the mask around 1-2hours before I plan to shower as this leaves a good amount of time for the mask to sink into my hair.

This Moroccan Argan Oil mask leaves my hair feeling super soft and shiny which is the look I like for my hair.

Lets talk Shampoo and Conditioner
Herbal Essences Bio Renew Shampoo and Conditioner – Coconut Milk Hydrate

I first found my love for this shampoo after I bought two miniatures of this Shampoo and Conditioner for a trip to Berlin. Not thinking anything of it I used the shampoo and conditioner and was amazed by the results. My hair has never looked so shiny and soft until I started using this Shampoo and Conditioner. After using up all of the miniature versions of these I had to get my hands on some full size products as it is definitely my favourite Shampoo and Conditioner.

I would recommend this Shampoo and Conditioner if you have particularly dry hair that is in desperate need of hydration.

Now it is time to talk Frizz/Treatments

For someone who has naturally frizzy hair I am always looking for ways to calm the frizz before styling with the straighteners! ( I am trying to use less heat on my hair as I have found this can make it more frizzy!)

For my birthday this year I received some amazing hair products off my parents and these included some of the Aussie products and oh my god they have changed my hair completely!

The Aussie 3 minute miracle Calm the Frizz with Hemp seed oil is what is keeping that frizz at bay! This Aussie product deeply conditions my hair when it needs that extra boost of moisture!

Additionally, I have got the original 3 Minute Minute Moisture deep treatment which I would also highly recommend this if you are suffer from dry ends but greasy roots. This treatment is perfect for any hair that needs a boost.

Onto Styling…

When it comes to styling my hair I always roughly dry it and straighten it every time! (I am trying to use less heat by air drying too!)

Before I add any heat to my hair I always use a heat protectant spray as it just gives my hair extra protection from the applied heat. I love the VO5 Heat Protect Spray as it does not add any unwanted stickiness or greasiness to the hair. The biggest hair care tip I can offer is always use a heat protect spray if applying heat to your hair as it will cause less damage with a spray

When I occasionally curl my hair I love to use the Toni and Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray as it adds volume to the curls and adds a beachy look which I love!

To keep my hair all in place I love using the Schwarzkopf got2b Glued Blasting Freeze Spray as it literally does what it says on the tin which is GLUES my hair in place all day ! I highly recommend!
