To the Moon, the brand changing the home fragrance game

To the Moon is the brainchild of Jess and a independent home fragrance business that you seriously need to check out if you haven’t already…

Liverpool is home to some amazing independent bars, cafe’s and restaurants. However, there are also many amazing independent businesses ran by even more amazing owners. This feature highlights one of them. To the Moon was founded by Jess Sharpe and has gone from strength to strength since its start.
To the Moon creates many beautiful handmade home fragrances like candles, wax melts and even reed diffusers. The scents of To the Moon are gorgeous and fill any room with a beautiful scent.
For every order with To the Moon, a new tree is planted with Ecologi.
To the Moon has even started creating tote bags and it’s safe to say I love them.
Over to Jess to hear about more of To the Moon…

To The Moon has such a beautiful collection of products, what are your favourite scents and why?

My top two favourite scents would have to be –
Snuggle Up, a warm and cosy aroma, perfect for those well deserved self-care evenings at home. This scent will leave you feeling as snug as a bug in a rug!
Coconut Sky, this was the first scent that I ever worked with. I knew that I wanted something to take me back to a fond memory, this scent always takes me back to sunny days at the beach. I find that it’s soothing yet uplifting at the same time.

To The Moon seems to be going from strength to strength, what are your biggest tips for someone trying to start a new business?

-Be prepared for trial and error, like everything you have to crawl before you walk.
-Try and do something that you have a passion for because loving what you do is half the battle
-It’s okay to feel disheartened sometimes, just like good days, the bad days are also inevitable all you can do is your best!
-Know your worth and be confident in the worth of your product/service
-Celebrate the small wins and remember to enjoy the ride. It’s so easy to get caught up in it all, it’s important to take a step back and reflect on how far you have come.

What inspired you to start To The Moon?

To The Moon was born out of love, memory and strength. At the end of 2019, Lee Kent, my soulmate and best friend was taken far too soon. Lee is and was my everything, and I want more than ever to make him proud.
So that’s what I’m trying to do, I know it may not seem like much but since I’ve started To The Moon I’ve felt like I have a genuine purpose. And I feel like Lee has given me the courage, and determination to set up my own business and see it through.
I know he’s with me every step of the way. In a way I’m hoping with each product I create I’m sharing Lee’s story – and passing on his message of warmth, love, and kindness.

Where do you get the ideas for the dreamy scents of To The Moon candles?

To The Moon’s collection is heavily Inspired by Mother Earth, her seasons and beyond.

Finally, what is next for To The Moon? The tote bags are so pretty & practical, do you plan on more apparel?

I definitely plan on creating more apparel down the line, I am so pleased that the tote bags have gone down a storm. I have a few more ideas in the pipeline, for the near future, I’m unable to revel what these are exactly at the moment as it’s still early days but I’m hoping by summer all will be revealed!

Thanks so much Jess for this Q&A.
