The low-down on tomorrow’s design showcase…
Istituto Marangoni London, the renowned fashion and design school, is set to present their graduate showcase runway show on Tuesday, 11th July 2023. This year’s runway show will show the collaboration between the physical and virtual realms as part of the schools 20th Anniversary celebrations. The graduate collections will be showcased at Unit 2, 110 Pennington Street in the east of the capital. The collections will also be shown via the metaverse too for those who cannot attend physically. Istituto Marangoni London is a patron of the British Fashion Council and the school debuted their well received first collections at London Fashion Week in September 2022.
The selected students from the school will each present six of their own designs that engages in the theme of DISTRUPT/DISTORT. Istituto Marangoni was the first school to venture into the Meta-verse with their virtual world called ‘The Talent District,’ where the creative industries are able to express their universal power digitally. The London Academy of Freelance Makeup and Unite Haircare will provide support for the graduates with their runway presentations ensuring the hair and makeup fits the brief of the designers.
Following Istituto Marangoni’s inaugural phygital runway show in Dubai last year, which marked the opening of their new international campus, the upcoming showcase runway show will demonstrate the school’s enduring commitment to design, craftsmanship, and innovation which are the three main principles of the school.
The avant-garde school, which originated in Milan, now boasts worldwide campuses in Florence, Paris, London, Mumbai, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Miami, and Dubai, and fosters a global network of cultural exchanges, education and collaborations alike.
The world renowned menswear designer, Grace Wales Bonner is a current mentor for the London school and joins a distinguished group of mentors globally that has included well respected names in the industry such as Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing for the Paris school and eminent British journalist, stylist and creative director, Katie Grand, for the London school last year.

The ever future-forward thinking Istituto Marangoni London will introduce a groundbreaking new MA course in ‘Responsible Fashion’ this coming October. The course will allow students to understand the development of the ever changing responsible fashion systems.
The pioneering programme will integrate the sciences into the arts to promote a sustainable collaboration. Students will be equipped with the tools to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively, and the knowledge to reimagine and reinterpret fashion.
