A look back at the two Dior shows at Shanghai Fashion Week.
Shanghai Fashion Week brought the fashion week experience we all have been waiting for. The post-pandemic fashion week experience was certainly delivered in Shanghai after missing the traditional fashion weeks calendar of 2020.
Across the 8 days , 100 fashion houses showcased their new collections across 4 venues across the city. Well established Chinese brands such as Labelhood and Dawei showcased their collections and Labelhood particularly took over the Tank Museum in the Shanghai’s Arts and Culture West Bund hub area of the city. Labelhood’s ‘show’ featured featuring designers such as Private policy and many more.
International Fashion Houses such as Jason Wu and Christian Dior showcased their fall and pre-fall collections. Dior debuted their 2021 fall ready to wear collection at the Shanghai Long Museum. The collection showed inspiration from Pop Art and futurism. Months earlier Beijing became home to the Dior Mens collection.
The Dior fall show boasted dark, metallic and textured pieces compared to the pre-fall show which showed contrast from Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, who used disco inspired pieces amongst the leopard printed runway. Each outfit showed balance and pops of colour throughout each piece.
