Co-ordinates are an all year round staple whether that be a tailored suit or a silk set. You can never go wrong with a co-ord. They are one of my go to outfit choices at the moment. I love how each element can be worn separately in another outfit or in the Co-ord set. They are really versatile and perfect for summer.
Co-ords are everywhere at the moment and I am loving them. There is nothing better than feeling like you have put loads of effort into an outfit that really only took a few minutes to put together.
We have noticed so many high street and designer brands releasing many styles of Co-ords for the summer. We thought to find a lovely independent brand that was creating beautiful Co-ords for the summer season that our readers need to know about. This is when we found the beautiful brand Copines hailing from Spain. The brand at the moment is inspired by all things summer, sunsets and summer nights. So what better brand to have feature on GDA for our summer feature collection.
Introducing Copines…
Copines seems to create effortless pieces, what is the inspiration behind the brand?
When creating this brand, we decided to merge our styles, which although different, are not incompatible at all. We wanted to create something hippie but still elegant. A style that we consider undeveloped and that we could not find in other brands but that we are convinced that it can have a very positive impact on fashion as it represents many other women like us. This first collection called Cassiopea is inspired by the magic of summer nights, from sunsets and starry nights to dinners, parties and unforgettable moments that we remember with nostalgia during the rest of the year. They are looks made to feel beautiful and dazzle wherever you go.
Do your surroundings in Spain inspire the collection?
Yes! As we mentioned before, this first collection is inspired by summer nights, specifically our summer nights. We both spend our summers in the south of Spain, one in Sotogrande and the other in El Puerto de Santa Maria, these are our happy places and what we love the most is to travel the coast and discover special and charming places where we create those memories that inspire us. Also in the summer season we love to travel around the islands or the north of Spain where we also see ourselves wearing any of our looks.
The pieces seem to be sets that you can wear as one or separately, are co-ords your signature products?
For now, yes, the idea of Copines started out as a set of looks, since we find them much more special, easy, versatile and finished. Easy because being an already composed look, it saves a lot of thinking time and you go spectacular to any event. Versatile because you can wear it separately and make infinite looks giving it your own touch or following the Copines essence. And finished because they look polished and for us they are a sign of distinction and elegance, it is inevitable to draw attention! The next collections of Copines will also be based on coords, we already have many ideas and we are eager to bring them too light.
What is your plan for Copines as a brand in the future?
We would like Copines to grow and be known by the world. In our opinion, nowadays fashion has degraded and it is considered stylish to go in a tracksuit or half naked as we see in many of today’s fashion references. We want to represent that fashion can be comfortable as well as modern, sexy and elegant. We would love to make Copines a fashion reference.
